Ten Good Reads from April 2014

Parsley Exploring Upper Joffre Lake

Good things always seem to come all at once and that certainly sums up the month of April. While I've traveled to Alaska, British Columbia, Eastern Washington, and Maryland - I've also been working hard on a special project, getting our front yard edible garden ready for the year, and booking a two week trip to Portugal for September! So much goodness it's almost hard to stand, but I'm very much looking forward to May when a major deadline will be passed and I'll be traveling to Washington D.C. and Chicago.

Now let's take a look back at my favorite picks for reading and watching around the web this past month.

What I Was Reading & Watching Around the Web

A few old favorites and new-to-me spots to visit on my next trip (hopefully in June!) to one of my favorite states.

2. Water, a brief odyssey into the world below the sea | Global Yodel

This video is mesmerizing!

3. I escaped my life (and kids) to travel ... and I'd do it again | Stuffed Suitcase on Walking On Travels

Similar to Keryn's post last month - I love the message that Kim's experience sends.

4. Eating and Beaching Our Way Through El Salvador & Honduras: The Murder Capital of the World | Desk to Glory

There's a whole lotta good looking food and beautiful scenery in these two Central American countries.

5. The Algarve: Driving Southern Portugal | Lauren Schaad

I'll officially be in Portugal later this year and Lauren's pictures just make me want to go sooner!

6. Scottish Highlands Travel Guide | Dirtbag Darling

I want to climb all of those mountains.

7. Exploring Iceland with the Abandoned Houses Project | Atlas Obscura

More reasons I'd love to return to Iceland.

This list was made for the road trip my husband and I will do one day around the country.

9. 6 Months on the Road in Australia - The Facts and Stats | yTravel Blog

Great overview of where to visit and explore in Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania.
