The Hawthorne and Corbett Fish Houses in the Portland area have been on my list to try for a good long while now. Both offer oodles of fish and other types of dishes that are all gluten free, with the exception of some gluten-full bread for those gluten eaters out there.
While I do love my fish and chips, fried clam strips really make me smile. When I was younger and would visit my grandmother in Fort Bragg, CA we would always eat at The Wharf Restaurant and I would always order the fried clam strips. So they remind me of many good visits to the Northern California Coast.
I tried to keep my expectations low, because my history with clam strips. We ordered ours to go as a snack for the drive back to Seattle and I couldn't have been happier. It's been at least five or so years since I've had clam strips and these were just what I was waiting for! I can't wait to go back and order more!
